Great Little Blog - Hey Gorg

via
With it being Valentine's day and all I thought I'd feature a beautiful blog about LOVE and all things pretty!

Who isn't always loving them some wedding blogs?!  I know I am.  Even though I'm six months post-wedding day, I still find myself drawn to all things pretty!  Plus, events are just fun...whether they be wedding or birthday or just a feel good party!

So while I was planning my own wedding, I was blogstalking my favorite photographer... Amanda Wilcher.  And while I was blogstalking her, I came across an engagement set that made me completely jealous!  Well, in a good way... Jealous for a few reasons: (1) It was taken in Chicago - My most favoritest city in the world (that I've been to).  (2) The couple was absolutely gorgeous!  (3) Rhiannon was a blogger with the cutest, simplest, most creative, and sassy little blog I'd found in a while.

So... like any good blogstalker, I became a follower.

Hey Gorg is such a great blog.  Rhiannon features other weddings, great DIY details, and creative ideas that could really be used for any event!  She seems to do it all...and elegantly!  I'm a frequent visitor and feel like this precious gem shouldn't be kept a secret!

PLUS! She's being featured today on Style Me Pretty!
Just wanted to share!  Check her out!
PS... Check out her events page too!  She's started her own event planning business - Hey Gorgeous, Events by Rhiannon Nicole!

-- Miss to Mrs? --

How many of you are planning on changing your name?  I promised Mike I am.  But seriously isn't Kellermeyer the longest name EVER!?!?  It's 2 in 1!  I always thought I'd either hyphenate or just keep my last name; there's always been some sort of feminist in me.  But I guess I have 2 brothers to carry on the Hake last name so I shouldn't really be worried about it, right?

I do keep reading everywhere that it's a colossal pain in the arse to change it!  What's that all about?!  Why does everything revolving around marriage have to be such a pain?

Yesterday though, to maybe help in this painful process and to look towards the future, I entered into an online comment contest to win a gift card to MissNowMrs.com that covers the complete cost of the online services to changing your name.  Maybe this will make the transition a bit smoother.  Who knows?!  I guess it's worth looking into a bit more.  I mean, Mike did ask me to take his last name on our 3rd date...weird, I know.

PS... I entered the contest here.

Wedding Planners — Yes or No?

This past week I met with two lovely wedding planners. They were great. Both offered great ideas and great committment to my day. The price tags were a bit steap though. I mean, I understand, but when it comes down to it I have to sit back and wonder, do I really NEED a wedding planner?

April Foster of April Foster Events was great. She had was ready to go with some great ideas and offered great services. She had a list of questions ready to ask and offered great advice as she’s obviously done this before.

Lindsey Schrivner of Bustle Event and Design was great as well. She’s a newlywed – just last year - so weddding planning is fresh in her mind. A modern and classy duo, she and her sister give it their all to make your wedding ideas become a reality. I thought I’d throw it out there.
Love you both.

Most churches or sites come with wedding planners these days and the receptions sites have the “go to” people to make sure things on their end go smooth. So…how many of you are having wedding planners and what is your suggestion?
