Friday Favorite :: Seersucker + Saddles

I fell in love with the Seersucker + Saddles back in 2013... maybe even in 2012.  Beth is this adorable blonde with a pixie-esque hair cut and a unique sense of style. I swear that someone who resembles her is somewhere DEEP Down inside of me just waiting to come out!  Ha!

I think this is one of my very favorite outfits that I first saw...
I love how she mixes the super ripped jeans with all things classic!

via

This would be a great outfit to wear to work -- If I ever got dressed up :)

via

And I love the casual comfiness of this set...

via

That scarf is sold out but this one on my list... MUST HAVE!
Beth is probably one of my favorite fashion bloggers because I feel like she wears REAL outfits that you and I could recreate.

Her bags and accessories are always amazing...

So if you have a minute I hope you'll go blogstalking a little bit over at Seersucker + Saddles because there is so much to take in!  Love the way she does daring mixes and color choices and they always seem to work!

Thanks for all the inspiring style Beth!

Friday Favorite :: Honey & Fitz

It's time to feature another one of my favorite blogs!  I love to feature blogs who do it all... and all good things at that!

So today I'm featuring Honey & Fitz.

via

Not only does she design beautiful and functional rooms like these that you can see in her portfolio...

I die over that houndstooth upholstered vintage chair!  Yes Please!

She also does her share of DIY!  Here are a couple of my favorite projects of hers!

Friday Favorite :: House of Fifty / Isabella & Max Designs

One of my favorite blogs out there {and has been for a while} is House of Fifty.  Janelle always has such a keen sense of color, chic, and the unexpected. I also love that she's pretty much not really afraid to tackle anything.

Recently she and her husband downsized to a new home. I popped on this morning to look at her blog and found this picture of the new gallery wall hanging in her master bedroom. Funny thing -- I just finished up one in my master bedroom that's not yet ready to share.

via
In her old home this (below) was probably my favorite room - the office. I love how she changed a Hoosier cabinet into a cute little writing desk and hung dark frames on dark walls. The color is so warm and comfy. And you can't see it in this picture but she also has this amazing aztec-ish animal bench that I would totally steal if I visit ever visited. Ever since I saw it in this room I've been on the hunt.

via

I remember when she ordered this bench from overstock (I think) and then totally did an overhaul on it. I thought she was a little bit crazy at that point but in the end I totally love that decision. She knew what she wanted and went for it!  But that's what I'm talking about spending a decent amount of money on something in the totally changing it as soon as you get it - no fear.

via

And I love the stencil on that wall that goes up the stairs it's a perfect place so it's not too much not too little, just right.

And she's probably my favorite queen of DIY. She was the inspiration for my own starburst mirror and I love how she does these faux zink letters just by getting the cardboard ones from Joanne fabrics.
via
I can't wait to see what she does with her new home. Already she's done amazing things like tackle her front door, her kitchen, and the mantle on her fireplace.

via

She's got design guts and I like it!  Which is why she's one of my Friday favorites!  Make sure you hop on over and check out her blog!  I promise it won't disappoint!

Happy Friday!

Xoxo

Friday Favorite : Sarah M. Dorsey Designs

This might be one of my favorite DIY blogs.  I know, I know... I probably say that about everyone!
But this girl can do anything!  She's amazing!

I've been following her for maybe a little over a year?  Maybe longer... but I found her after she won the Creating for the Stars Challenge last year.

I love that she tackles anything!  And tries anything!  And rarely seems to fail!

When she made these curtains, I almost went out and bought all the supplies, but knew mine would not turn out as good.  She did provide a free download of the stencil which made the process even more tempting!

via

When she made this chandelier, I was sold.  I need more time to try to make something like this.. but would you know that it was DIY?

via

Then she posted these printables and I decided they needed to be some in my home.. A second one might be getting printed shortly!  They cost $7 to have printed at Staples.

via

And here they are in my house!

And those are just three of my favorite projects she's done!  There are plenty more on her blog!  So hop on over and check out Sarah!  What she does with some things will seriously blow your mind!

Now off to cater to my sick child now... we have a cough that won't go away.

Happy Friday!

Ride-A-Pony

I think I have a thing for animals.  They tend to appear all over my house.

A while back, I found this lovely little horse at Whimsy, an antique shop in Noblesville.

It has so much character and cuteness and since I still lust over this piece that Janell from Isabella & Max Designs had in her office, I figured it would work somewhere in my house.

And while that lizard zebra bench is my favorite thing ever -- I hope she didn't sell it when they decided to downsize -- My little horse will have to do for now!

But the horse was brown... Like a blah brown that needed some life.

I found this chalk paint that you can get a Michael's (and use a 40% off coupon DUH!).  Actually scratch that -- My friend Morgan found it and we go buy it together at lunch. haha.

It's an amazing deal at around or under $5!
And it goes on so smoothly and covers so well!  I didn't sand or anything!

And now it's back next to the sofa all pretty and new.

In this lighting it looks a little more blue, but that's ok since the color scheme is blues, grays, & teals at the moment so it works!

And a little staging that will soon be gone and thrown on the floor by the little one...

Sorry Nester, yes, you fall to the floor so my "Princess Anna" or "Princess Elsa" has a pony to ride... But so does "Sh** My Dad Says" so you shouldn't feel bad.  And I promptly pick up in between pony rides!

But PS... have you read The Nester's new book?!?  It's AWESOMESAUCE!  Like seriously... I will say that I wasn't going to get the book and my friend talked me into it and I am in love with it!  You should check it out!

Friday Favorite : Little Green Notebook

Do you have any blogs that you religiously check everyday?!  I typically go through blogs with recent posting listed under MY blogs on my blogger home page.  But there are a few that I don't even wait for them to post and I go directly to their site... hoping and praying they've posted something new since I last checked!

One of those is Little Green Notebook.

I found Jenny's blog a couple years ago when I was wanting to dye lampshades.  She had a really cute tutorial and it was easy and worked really well.  I love that she's not afraid to reuse things and she loves hunting for great finds just like I do, but she finds AMAZING things!

Some of my favorite projects that she's done include...

Using Plywood for flooring in her new office area which she posted about here:

I loved the final result and wish I had somewhere I could do this!
A great affordable option for a larger space!

Tips for Thrifting which she posted about here:

I don't know if it's just where she is located (NY now Arizona I think) but she comes across the most amazing things!  I love that she shares her tips and I love that she takes 30 seconds sometimes to run through her favorite thrift stores because consistency in stopping is how you find the best things!

Her DIY Faux Painted Bust which she shows here:

I saw a bust at Hobby Lobby the other day that I wouldn't mind trying this on...

And her little redo on this vinyl chair made me seek one out even though I don't have a place to put it!

And I seriously looked for a chair like this for like a week straight after I saw this post to try to do this to!  i really don't have anywhere for one to go, but I wanted to stripe a chair like this... doesn't it look so chic?!?

I love seeing what she's got up her sleeve everyday!  She's got an eclectic style which I LOVE and I feel like her homes are always pretty "layered" but they always seem livable and comfortable!  She does a really great job of mixing old with new and reusing things!  If you haven't already, and you love decor and thrifting, then you should hop over to Jenny's blog and check out all her DIYs!  I am pretty sure you'll fall in love instantly!

Happy Friday!

The Balanced Life

I was scrolling through the instagram the other day... Feb 1st to be exact... and came across on of my favorite style bloggers, Jill G, who had posted a picture with the hash tag #28daysofpilates.  For some reason, it intrigued me.  It must have been either a fat moment, or a moment where I wasn't ready to let go of my phone yet.

Anyways, I went over to the blog related to the hash tag and decided to sign up myself.

It's a really nice 5-10 min video each day.  I love how it's not too hard, but it feels good to get back into actually doing something again.

Go on over and meet Robin and check out the #28daysofpilates!  I'm sure you will love it!  And we are only a couple days in so it's still a good time to hop on board!

Favorite Things { Gift Exchange }

This year at work we decided to try something a little bit different than before.
We decided to send an email out to everyone to see who would like to participate in a
"Favorite Things" gift exchange.
Well, that's not really what it's called, but it works.

We all shared a small item on a particular day with the rest of the group that told them something about us.  Something we liked or like to do during the holidays or a favorite thing.  The item was to be very minimal in cost.

So far we've gotten chocolates, coffee, candy canes, hot chocolate, and votives!

This is mine.

I found these printables at Hostess with the Mostess Blog and decided to use them as my little notes.

I just hot glued the backside down to the back of the tea bag with the ornament inbetween so it wouldn't fall out.  Too easy, and too cute if I do say so myself!  I hope everyone enjoys them!

Then we'll have a big gift exchange on Wednesday!
The Christmas Party is on Thursday!
