Ells Goes To Preschool

This past February my little Ells turned 3.  In her head she's at least 13, but really, she's only 3...
And our babysitter decided to follow her dreams and start her own business over the summer...
So... We decided the next logical progression was to put this kiddo in school.

So last Thursday we went to the Open House and met her teachers and she insisted on bringing a lunch.

And then she was mad we had to leave...
"But Mom, I didn't even eat my lunch... ?"

I stayed up Monday night... well I went out in the dark... and drew this on the ground.   I saw it on Pinterest somewhere... and I figure we can always do sidewalk chalk from Preschool to 12th grade!

And Tuesday was her first day...
She was upset with me that I didn't let her chalk...
Much better...

And what's a first day of school without an early morning bike ride on the open road since all the other kids are already at school?

She did amazing and was crying yesterday that she didn't get to go again!
So here's to today -- Day 2!
Maybe she needs more days!

800 Posts! Like Woah!

A long long time ago
I can still remember how
That music used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while...

I started this blog long ago... To document the wedding process really.  To share my likes and dislikes.  To share my happy with people like you.  At the time, I was doing a lot of DIY projects for my wedding and it was mostly about saving money because we didn't really have much.  I didn't really realize that I was that crafty but others apparently did and so this blog just happened.  And seemed natural.  But over the last 6 years, Little Miss Martha has gone through many transformations...
I can't believe now I've published 800 posts!  What the heck did I write about and share?!  800 times?!  And some of you are still out there reading?!?  Or maybe are new?!  It's an honor to share good things with you guys!  I'm glad you've been along for the ride.
But seriously, what did I write about... Even I'm not sure... so lets take a quick stroll down memory lane... {insert clouds and magical music here}

In March of 2008 I introduced you to Little Miss Me.
"This blog will mostly be about trying to get my jewelry name out there, but I'm sure I'll have work stories and much much more. I started Verre Chic in October after I went to a craft show and saw a few jewelry vendors. I thought to myself, I could do this. And so I did. I feel that my pieces are affordable, chic, and very unique"
See... Even I was wrong on what this little blog was about!

In 2009, I got engaged...
"The best part about it was that it was just me and my boys. Even if the dogs were barking when we kissed, it was still just right - Mike in front of me, Louie at my feet, and Lex jumping up to hug me! "

In July of 2010 I started selling Stella & Dot, I got married... And then blogged about my next wedding...
In 2011, I shared that I was expecting... and in 2012, we welcomed Ella.
In 2013, I attempted a 31 Days challenge and made it 10 days.  Bahaha.  It helps to laugh at yourself.  And started Maeve. Very Slowly and quietly...

In 2014, I joined The City Moms and I feel like I got a hold of my blog again... It felt good to be back at it and better than before.

In 2015, I realized by writing this post that I never shared a happy birthday to my daughter on her birthday this year!  I shared the entire day with her... but forgot to post about it!

While the year has just begun, it looks to be a good one.
Again, thanks for being along for the ride - sticking with me through the ups and downs and inconsistencies!  Can you believe I've posted 800x?!  I can't. That's for sure.
Little Miss Martha has been there for me through all my big lifetime moments.  Engagement, Marriage, Babies, Parenting, Finding Me, Making New Friends, etc... All good things!  This trip down memory lane was just that... a TRIP!

{Late} Halloween Recap

Yes I know it's been almost a week!  Yes, I know!

On Friday, Elsa made her way into our home and down the street.
She wasn't bothered by the [freezing] cold anyway..
I was fully prepared by reading this article from Blog Her as I assumed I'd see hundreds of Elsas...

Anyways, we let Ells wear her "new" Elsa dress during the day as sort of a dress rehearsal.

That wig was a mess that I tried to tame...

Then, Mr K and I finished the decorations around 5pm.
Trick or Treating strarted at 5:30pm.
Nothing like working up to the deadline!

He's my favorite new edition.

And of course, the box.  Mr K had the fog and sounds on remote this year to scare the kiddos.

Then Elsa was ready to go...

It was so windy and so cold that her wig that I had attached to a winter hat underneath fell off and we were freezing so we decided about 15 houses was enough!

Then she had the best time handing out candy at the door!

Small recap, but still wanted to share!  Off to plan next year.
Oh yea, and it was all cleaned up by 10:30pm as we were leaving for the weekend!  haha

31 Days // Inside Halloween Decor

DAY SIX --

Happy Halloween Decor.

My hubby joked this weekend that I might like to decorate more than he does...
And I do like it a lot...
Not quite as much as him...

But I do, so I decided to decorate inside this weekend.

Along with finding many great things in my Halloween box from last year, I created a few banners, and found a few more CHEAP goodies at Dollar Tree.

And my husband continues to scare me with Wendy the Witch.
This time it was in my car.

And this afternoon it was in the pantry...

Yes, I scream every time.

xoxo,

Kellermeyer Chronicles - Soggy Day

Oh... I wish I had pictures!

Imagine "waking up" to this...

That's what I basically saw last night in our bathroom...
Ok, maybe it's a bit of an exaggeration...
Ok, a LOT of an exaggeration...
But I still felt like water was rushing from Niagara Falls from my toilet and onto my bathroom floor!

And after the flash flooding all day long here, it was just about the perfect storybook ending to a soggy day!

Recap:
Last night while laying in bed, we heard a rather random noise that came from our bathroom.

Everything was normal before we got in bed... I was already in bed when Mr. K came to bed (as usual).  He used the restroom before bed (as usual).  I told him I smelled something funny and asked him if he could shut the bathroom door before hopping into bed.  It just smelled damp or something... maybe it was a sign.  A sign that I clearly didn't listen to.

So... we were laying in bed, almost asleep... you know that time when you've just turned the TV off, made sure the alarms are set, and gotten into the "perfect" sleep position?  Oh wait... I don't have one of those!  And then we heard a pop... maybe it was a combination of a pop and a thud.  This was probably 10 minutes after Mr. K had shut the bathroom door.

Mr. K got up to investigate.  HOLY FLOODED BATHROOM!  Probably at least an inch of water was on our bathroom floor!  I was in shock... but I was the one who suggested to shut the water off!  YAY ME! - Bonus Points!  Nevertheless, we still had to figure out where the water was coming from AND how to clean it up!  I grabbed all the towels we had... not enough.  All the hand towels we had... not enough.  And attempted to absorb as much of the water as quickly as possible.  All I could think was that it was somehow going to leak to our downstairs and stain our ceiling!!!  I really hope that when I get home and there is daylight shining in that I don't see something surprisingly unwelcome on our ceiling!

So we sopped up all the water using every single towel we owned except for one for morning showering purposes and then it was off to bed again... But then we were wide awake so we tried to figure out what had happened.

Our toilet has been running funny lately.  And it all happened after Mr. K flushed and left the bathroom.  So... the only thing we can think happened is that the back tank just overflowed.  Does that sound right?  Anyone else had this problem before?!?  And how do we fix it!?!

At the moment we are using our guest bathroom for all purposes and have kept the water shut off in our Master Bath.  Problem definitely not solved.

Never a dull moment at the Kellermeyer House...

**PS**
Thoughts and suggestions welcome as we are still new to this homeowner stuff....
... at least when things start failing ...
... You live, you learn ...
And in this case, I'll mooch a little knowledge from everyone out there!

-- San Diego --

So I'm in San Diego for work.

It's actually a nice change since when I left Indiana yesterday it was 12 degrees and when I landed it was 75!  I'll take it.

Anyways, I wanted to tell you about my plane ride.

Edie Beale and mother
Has anyone seen Gray Gardens?   I swear there was a lady on the first flight who looked like Edie.  She had a scarf on her head and then a hat over it and pants tucked into boots and an entire ensemble that could only be inspired by Edith Bouvier Beale.
We left about 20 min late which made me worry about missing my connection.  I didn't after running and getting semi-lost at O'Hare - What?!  All their screens where you check gates etc were off.  And no one could give me the correct directions.

Once I got on my flight to San Diego, I found out that I was sitting next to a SINGLE DOCTOR (sorry Mike) who was trying to get back to Seattle, but then continued to tell me about him and his practice and his son and how he might try to stay a night in San Diego now because he loves it here and he also told me a couple of places to go.  While in flight, he offered me a cookie too.

My first drink that I ordered was a diet coke and the lady gave me a can from Japan where Diet Coke is apparently called Coke Light.  The Doctor next to me then asked for a Japanese Diet Coke...weird, I know... But I had gotten the last one.

Then I noticed that the girl in front of me looked exactly like Olivia Palermo.  I will say thought that if it was her I'm surprised she was sitting in coach, she's much prettier on TV, and she was very polite.  I mean this girl was a dead wringer for her!  She even had on a really sassy outfit!

Well, that's all I have right now.  :)  But don't forget to hop on over to The Kellermeyer Chronicles to see how Mike sent me off!   Until tomorrow Blog Hogs!
