-- My First Miss --

Yesterday was my first miss... What do I mean? I mean it was the first time I missed blogging in so many days!!! I took a trip to Fort Wayne Yesterday to do some wedding details so I decided to not take my computer with me since it would be for less than 12 hours. The less items I can take with me the better.

I visited the church with my mom and found out that it was going to be just as expensive as it would be to do all the rentals and put up a tent at my "dream" place, but I'll talk about that some other time (either tomorrow or Monday). Then we went cake tasting...that will be a GOOD post! And then I finished off the evening by having dinner with a dear old friend who just made my evening! I've missed her!

Anyways, the day started by driving home at 7:45am and it didn't end until I got home around 11pm. This is why there was no blog yesterday. And today's is kind of short because I had skating lessons from 8am until 2pm today. Ugh...think wedding bills...

I'll make up for it with some Sunday morning coffee tomorrow and great posts this week.

Sassy Photos - Amanda Wilcher Photographers

Back in August I was looking for a photographer.  Then, with the wedding being less than a year away, most photographers already had been booked for my date.  I searched high and low.  I was very particular in this selection.  I wanted something semi-untraditional with a little sass and a bit of class but most of all I wanted a photographer who wasn't afraid to do the unexpected!

Amanda and her husband, Kyle, are just awesome!  First of all, I don't think that I could have found anyone with more sass than Amanda!  Love it!  I am a "Blogstalker" as she calls it and I check her blog daily for updates to see what her latest creative endeavors have been!  They take the most beautiful pictures!  The photos are always serene and almost perfect like she and Kyle are always in the right spot at the right time!  And there's always a sense of taking it to the next level...wherever that level may be.

Check out some amazing pictures by them here!

I am so excited to work with Amanda and Kyle.  I hope that you all will check out their website and blog.  They are hi-lariously funny and enjoyable people and I'm sure are going to create stellar memories and photographs of Mike and I's big day!

Notes and Notebooks Galore!

I love blogging and all, but what happened to the days of notebooks?

I’ve always had an afinity for those super cute notebooks at Border and Barnes and Noble.
Haven’t you? These would also make great bridesmaid gifts.

But ever since this wedding planning started, I have found myself taking notes all over the place. My work notebooks become MY notebooks. I take notes on printed out emails, on pictures, on magazines, on just about everything. I write down websites, obsessions, ideas, anything and everything wedding related. I just don’t want to forget something that I love now and will still love later but may forget. How do I sift through it all?!?! I will never know.

I think once this whole wedding is over I’ll be a journaler for life…maybe even a blogger. We shall see.

9 Days Later

Wow. So just over 5 days have passed and I've already had a small fight with my mom, I'm now considering eloping, and I'm wondering why we didn't get engaged sooner.

My mom and I had a fight over the guest list. We won't go into details, but lets just say it's just a BIG list. I'm thinking of eloping because I can't find what I want or like in Fort Wayne that will accomodate that many people. And ever since the ring has been on my finger, Mike has been like an entirely different person. He does laundry now, he vacuums, he puts most of his dirty clothes in the hamper. It's weird how all of a sudden he decided to become a helpful person.

Once I get a reception site chosen and booked, I'll be fine again. Until then, I'm going to stress a little. It's weird how this stuff needs to be done immediately. Like last week I didn't have a care in the world and now I need to find a place that can fit between 200-250 people, has high ceilings, is different, and is a good place for a good time! I never thought it would be that hard.

Does anyone have any good ideas???!?! I'm looking into a few places - Bergstaff Place and Salomon Farm options at this point...but it's not looking too promising. Does anyone know of a great piece of land where we could set up a tent and throw a great party next summer? If you do, let me know!

I guess I'll keep looking.

Fridays...

Well, this week has gone by pretty fast. I've been working, skating, passing and failing skating tests, and trying to keep my house clean. Now it's Friday and I don't see relaxation in the near future.

Tomorrow we will be going to a wedding. My boyfriends cousin is getting married, or at least I think that's who it is. That should be an interesting ALL DAY Saturday event. Always fun. I'm hoping to work on my resume, along with my mother's, to give them both some needed zest. And of course, I'm always working on Verre Chic. Sunday may prove to have a little down time in the evening hours.

Friday's just aren't what they used to be. They used to mean a break from the reality of grown up life. They used to involve friends, trips, family, and rest. Not anymore. Now Fridays are only a tease that makes you wonder how long the weekend will really be. Well, hopefully this Friday, night at least, will prove to be productive.

For now, I have to go back to the almost over reality of the work week. 3 hours and 38 min left for mine.

Check out the website.....Now ALWAYS Free shipping to the US. http://www.verrechic.etsy.com/

Thanks,
Little Miss Martha
