Etsy Favorite :: Second Chancez

Who doesn't love a super cute dish towel?  I know I do!
And lately they seem to just get cuter and cuter!  Everyone needs them... They add a little character to your kitchen!

And my friend makes them!  Her Etsy shop, Second Chancez, has a ton of cute vintage accents that she's brought back to life!

My favorites are these Ball Jar towels.  The transfer is just adorable and you can't beat the price of $7.95!

I mean, look how cute they are hanging on a towel rod.
Her towels are 100% cotton white flour sack towel and approximately 28" x 29".

I also love the color in these little bowls on this one!  Not to mention the red line on the towel itself.

She also makes these cute little burlap sacks!  I think they are just perfect to add a wine bottle too!
What a cute way to give a hostess a bottle of wine!?!

And owls are all the rage right now...
Very on trend.

And Morgan & I both want you to have some!  She's graciously offered a coupon code!
Use LMMBLOG10 at her etsy shop and you'll receive 10% off your purchase of $10 or more!
Good through August 31st!

Thrifty Thursday { Nursery Dresser }

I really wanted a mid-century modern dresser for the nursery.  One that looks like this.  This is my ideal dresser.

Refinished Mid-Century Retro Dresser

I think I love it.  I love the two-tone.  That's what the crib will be.  And I think this one would match just nicely.  However, this one is from the Etsy Shop She'z Crafty and at $499 a little out of my price range.  Remember we are doing this nursery on a BUDGET!!!

So I've been scouring the Internet - eBay, craigslist, you name it - for a mid-century modern dresser or even a danish modern dresser.  I don't want anything elaborate and I'm even willing to do some staining and painting if necessary.

Then I found this in my parents little city on Craigslist.

It's so similar to the one pictured above that it's almost eerie.  A little paint on the top, and a little stain on the bottom and I think it would be close.  BUT then I got to thinking... I'm sure I can find something down this way... even though it's only 2 hours away, it's still troublesome to transfer furniture and especially since Winter is creeping up on us!  You never know what kinds of weather you'll get here in Indiana and when!  Not a bad price though, $130 for the long low one.  The other they want an additional $80 for.

So I continued to scour the Indianapolis Craigslist and EBay to see if I couldn't find something better, comparable, or even just something that would work.

I came across a website for a furniture resale shop here in the city.  Love it!  Domistyle!  First of all, they have about five items I need/want!  Including these dressers... I know it's not a great picture.

They would totally work... right?
And I really just need the lower longer one and they are asking $150 for the dresser and mirror.  They are asking $99.95 for the tall boy chest.

After comparing the ones in Indy at the resale and the ones in where my parents live, I decided to give the Indy Craigslist one more shot.  And I came across these...

Nothing like what I was looking for originally but I do like the cane look.  i think they look actually kind of quaint and semi nursery like.  ha ha.  And I figure they can grow with the babe, right?  It's a dresser and a nightstand and you are going to die, but as you may or may not be able to tell from the picture, they are a pale yellow.  And probably the best part is that they are asking $85 for both pieces!

And then I saw what Natty did to her EXACT SAME DRESSER over at Natty by Design...

Holla!!!

Dear Mr. K,
I know I told you that we might not have to paint this one, but really can't you see it in a high gloss white!!!  Or maybe even a plum or turquoise?!?  WOWZA!!!
I might have lied to you.
Sorry.
Love,
Your Pregnant Wife

Ruler Growth Chart/Art - Part Two

Last week I showed you progress on my Ruler Growth Chart.

And I'd stated that I was thinking about throwing some vinyl on it...

So here are the options I found on Etsy.

Ruler growth chart Vinyl Lettering

This Ruler Growth Chart Vinyl Lettering is from Orange Blossoms Shop AZ.  I think this would work perfectly on my little piece of wood.  What do you think?

Orange Blossoms also has this one... which I have a fondness for!  I like how the numbers are all different!  I do wish though it had more and small dashes for the markings in between.

Or this one from Abbie's House.  They actually show it on the wooden "ruler."
This would make my life so much easier!

This one is also cute from Scraps of Love by Jen!  And I love dotted letters and numbers!  It would look really sweet in a babe's room.  However, I am going for something a little more modern some I'm not sure how well this would fit.

So... now I must decide what to do what to do!  Hmmm....
I think once we get the room painted this weekend, I'll put what I have in there and see how I feel about it!
I'll share with you, don't worry!

-- Etsy Finds -- R You Ready For Some Football?!? --

I figured, 'tis the season, right?  Well, I know that I am watching Notre Dame football on Saturdays and definitely Colts on Sundays or Mondays.  My brother is younger and he plays on Thursdays, but I'm sure there are many of you out there who have sons who play on Fridays for High School.  With that in mind, I thought it would be the perfect time to see what Etsy had in terms of football.

Why are baby items always the cutest?  Is it because they are little?  Or just because they are actually cute?!  Here we have the Football Crazy Fan Baby Beanie from Charlie Mai.  It's too cute and makes for a great picture...

For your little cheerleader here is an Over the Top Football Bow from Sassy Lil' Princess.  I think it's pretty darn cute.  It even comes with an interchangeable headband!  I mean, what little girl doesn't want to sass it up a little?

And now for the Men...who we know LOVE to watch them some football!  Here are some really cute silver Football Cufflinks.  This would make a great wedding or groomsmen gift.  Hey, you could even give it to the biggest football fan you know, so long as they don't have them already.  They are from Get Noticed's shop on Etsy.

Another thing the man would love is this... and you can love it too because it's actually attractive and a nice piece of art work!  It's titled Man Room Art.  Love that name.  Totally true.  I mean, you wouldn't just put this in your living room, or would you?!?  Thanks Katie Company Prints for keeping it Oh So Real!

Back to Babies...
Our next find is too cute.  I think I mostly love the styling of this little Peace, Love, Football Outfit from I Love Baby Doll Bows.  I mean, look at those little leg warmers.  I think I would be the mom to put my child in this outfit...at least for a picture.

And now 5 Finds for my team, the Colts!

She also has this adorable hat (available in pink and green)!

They even have players names on the back!

We couldn't forget about our puppies!

So that's it for today's etsy roundup!  Love the football finds!  If you have something you think is too cute or you have an idea for an etsy finds theme, please feel free to comment or contact me!

Happy Weekend Blog Hogs!

-- Etsy Finds -- Chalkboard --

Since I did the BOO Pumpkins yesterday, I thought our theme for Etsy Finds should be Chalkboard.  I love the recent LOVE of using chalkboard surfaces EVERYWHERE!

First up are these:
Chalkboard Labels Place Cards from Bradens Grace Wall Art.  They are too cute!  Add them to wine glasses like below!

This Chalkboard Teacher Notebook is too cute!  I think it's great!  You can get it from Gibberish2's shop on Etsy.  What a cute affordable present for a teacher!  :)

I wish I had these for my wedding!  Too cute!  It's a Speech Talk Bubble from Fun On A Stick.  Love love love!  What would you do with these?!  They'd be perfect for a wedding or an anniversary or birthday party!

Where would you put this guy?  He is now a lovely, matte black stallion that is finished with chalk board paint...he had seen better days according to Houndstooth Design.  I think it's the perfect accent piece for a bookshelf, kitchen corner, or sofa table.  They call him Aries- The Original Chalkboard Horse and you might have to fight me for him!

This is pretty cool too! Plan out a road trip or mark all the places you've been on the USA map chalkboard surface decal from Design with Az.  I think I'd put this either in my pantry for decoration or if I had kids, I think it would add fun interest to a playroom.  I even love how Hawaii is included!  Great learning tool or something just for fun.

And lastly for today, how could we feature chalkboard without actually featuring a chalkboard.  And since I am a fan of weddings I thought this would be a great way to finish up!  Direct everyone the right way with this Chalkboard Arrow.  Add a string to the back, hang it on a fence or post it in your yard to direct your guests where to go!  Check out Playing Grown Up's Shop here.

Hope you enjoyed!  :)  Happy Weekend Blog Hogs!

-- Etsy Finds -- Coffee --

Hello Blog Hogs!

Time for Etsy Finds!  Today's theme is coffee.  I LOVE COFFEE!!  I think that all people should drink coffee!  Coffee doesn't have to be all about coffee!  It's about the feeling it gives you, the boost it gives you, and usually the atmosphere that comes along with it!

Our first feature today is a coffee koosie!  I love these...  First of all, it's because they are reusable!  I have one...not like this, but it's going on my wish list.  Too Cute!  They are letting you recycle with out even thinking about it!  From Knit Storm, we have the Flowery On-the-Go Cup Cozy.  All their stuff is cute!

Ok, I'm not a big fan of folk art...I'm more modern or classic... but this might have to go in my kitchen!!!  It's too fun and true to pass over!  From Folk Art From the Harbor, this is actually a stencil.  It is the truth though...and anyone can do a stencil!!!

source

It's pillow time!!!  I love these accent pillows, don't you?!?  They are lovely!  They'd be perfect on a kitchen banquette OR in an office... see the correlation?  :)  These pillows are from Seed Stone Gardens.  Enjoy!

This piece of artwork comes to us from I Shoot Nouns.  Don't you love everything that is "Keep Calm and Carry On?"  I know I do.  So why not "Keep Calm and Drink a Latte?"

source
And last we have... COFFEE MUGS!!!  Did you think I wasn't going to feature any!??  How could I not?!?  I think these are classic.  I love the shorter mugs and these are sassy with little 'staches' on them.  What do you think?  These are from Sunny Dayz.

Alright kids!  I hope you've enjoyed!  See you all next time!  If you have suggestions for Etsy Finds, send them my way!

Much Love!

-- Keys --

Since keys are all the rage right now I thought it would be a good choice for our Etsy Finds today!  My favorite are the skeleton keys.  They give you something old to look at and remember how it used to be.  I was looking on Craigslist yesterday and actually saw a chest for sale that would only open with a skeleton key!  How cool...

Anyways, here we go...

Our first pick is from Margo's Originals.  It's a great key necklace in silver.  I love it's simplicity.  Open your heart with this Tibetan Silver key charm on 16" sterling silver chain. This necklace could be a great gift for the upcoming holidays or for yourself!  It's available to be personalized with initial discs or birthstones!

This highball glass comes from Phoenix Fire Studios.  I kind of love it.  Although I don't use highball glasses often, it's one that I'd LOVE to pull out for friends!  All pieces at this shop are handblasted!  Check it out!

I am a sucker for prints.  I love modern art prints.  And I love the ones that have cute sayings on them with some funky background or colors.  Here is a Live Laugh Love print from Farouche.  It's very sassy and bright.  You could put this anywhere in your house!

Next up is a pillow.  I think I need help with editing pillows.  They seem to trickle into my house.  This one could come by any day!  It's so cute, clean, and simple.  Check it out at Modernality's shop on Etsy.

The last find for today is some soap.  Not just any soap, but Carnival scented soap with a skeleton key in the middle!  It's a honey glycerin soap bar.  Steam Bath Factory says that it's for the adventurous lady!  I just think it's fun.
